Pina Bausch

On the 13th I went to Sadlers Wells with a friend to see Pina Bausch and her Wuppertal Dance Theatre. It was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. The performance was split in two, with Cafe Muller in the first half and Rites of Spring in the second. Each was about forty minutes long.

It literally went by in what felt like a total of ten minutes . I think I was just so captivated by what was going on. It doesn't translate well on video but here are some clips from youtube so you can get an idea. It has my interest in Stravinsky as well.

I'd say you should definitely get tickets but it's completely sold out, and I only had tickets due to the kindness and organisation of my brother.

But next time you should go. For sure.

I first got into Pina Bausch a few years ago after watching Pedro Almodovar's 'Hable Con Ella'
This is a film that everybody should watch

Here's my favourite song from that soundtrack, by Caetano Veloso, one of the greatest living legends of Latin American music
